You should be stoked to ski Revelstoke, the Canadian ski resort with the biggest vertical in North America at 5,620’. Revie (local speak) has 3,121 acres of skiing, two lift accessed high alpine bowls plus cat skiing, heli skiing and back country skiing all emanating from a modern ski resort base – all new in 2007.

Revelstoke’s conical ski peak is spectacular, snowy, and scenic. Just off the Trans Canada Highway, this modern ski resort shares owners with Sandman and Sutton Place Hotels its luxe.

Revelstoke has amazing terrain from low to high alpine terrain, tame to wild in-bounds backcountry. The Revelation gondola whisks you from base up 3,500’ vert to the Stoke quad for another 2,000’ vertical. Expert skiers can access North Bowl and Greeley Bowl’s snowy steeps and chutes with a short hike or you can cruise on super long steep groomed runs like Snow Rodeo, and a bunch of glades from well space moderately pitched tree to crazy cliffs in tight pines – like Conifers of Gnarnia.

Revelstoke Ski Resort is on Mt Mackenzie, but named for Revelstoke National Park (established 1914). The beautiful Columbia River below snakes through the valley, and across the valley are the magnificent Monashees, home to some of the best heli skiing in the world.

Revelstoke is the capital of heli skiing in BC, Canada (and the globe) with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing, Eagle Pass Heli Ski, Mica, and CMH plus Revelstoke Cat Skiing, and Powder Springs Cat Ski Operation. Outside of Revie’s resort skiing, you have access to a total of 515,000 acres of powder, off-piste and adventure.

Revelstoke could be big as Whistler Blackcomb, with expansion opportuniteis, and land, to over 9,000 acres of skiing. But for now, there is too minimal skier traffic to justify that expansion. Skiing at Revelstoke is rarely crowded.

The best slopeside hotel at Revelstoke is the posh Sutton Place Hotel Revelstoke, its elegant and perfectly poised by the gondola, with beautiful suites with fireplaces, washer dryers, and full kitchens, plus the amenities of a full service hotel including concierge service, and outdoor hot tub. The Revelstok village is compact, but well-designed- steps to the ski lifts, après ski at Rockford Wok/Bar/Grill and Mac’s Village Tavern, a few ski shops, and La Baguette coffee shop.

For the ultimate luxury, rent the Heli House or Big Horn private luxury chalet with 8-10 bedrooms for a Pinnacle Experience. Your helicopter or cat will pick you up at your doorstep for your ski adventure, the concierge and butler will see to your needs.

The only ski joke about Revelstoke is that it snows so much here, you might get Revel-stuck… is that a bad thing?! Rogers Pass that travels from Kicking Horse and Golden to Revelstoke often closes in big snow. But the with luxury ski lodging, modern lifts, cat and heli skiing – how stuck is that?!
