The Summit

Big Sky Montana is among our favorite luxury ski vacation destinations, and for ski in ski out lodging, there is the no better place than Big Sky’s Summit Hotel. At the base of Big Sky’s amazing ski slopes is this luxury ski hotel (the most expensive building in Montana when constructed in 1999).

The Summit’s luxury lobbies feature cowhide couches and leather chairs, amazing Montana artwork,  soaring antler and iron chandeliers.

Ask for an upper floor suite at the Summit Hotel, with a sweet slope view. There’s dining in the Summit Hotel, at Peaks for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a mountain view, and après ski at Carabiners Bar. You’ll also find a coffee cart, and a few shops inside the Hotel.

The Summit has the best spa and a huge outdoor hot tub with a view of the slopes for après ski too.

The friendliest bellman are at the Summit, cowboy clad

bellhops lug your gear to your elegant western-themed suite, and valet your skis each morning and evening.

After skiing Big Sky’s 5,800 acres of terrain, the ski valet whisks your skis away, and you can walk to Big Sky’s Mountain Village restaurants and shops, steps away – even in ski boots.

Other Big Sky Hotels in the base village are the Huntley and Shoshone Hotels, not as luxe as The Summit- but well-located and nice. There are also plenty of mountainside condos at Big Sky , private homes, cabins and condos at the base of Big Sky’s lifts, to charming luxury Cowboy Heaven cabins right on the ski trail just above the Moonlight Lodge.

The palatial slopeside ski mansion Cowboy Manor is pure ski luxe with a private hot tub on your deck, amazing views of Big Sky’s 11,166′ Lone Peak, and super ski in ski out convenience, plus charming cabin décor. Whether you opt for one of the slope-side hotels or a condo, you can expect a catered to vacation – from ski valet, to grocery delivery, even a private ski tour if you choose. or consider buying a  mega-mansion at the neighboring Yellowstone Club – a private ski community for billionaires.

Your Big Sky vacation starts with landing at Bozeman’s beautiful airport, where you can grab a shuttle to Big Sky Resort – or take the Karst Stage bus. With an early arrival, you can ski Big Sky on arrival day (if you are super organized) since it’s just an hour ride from BZN airport to the ski resort.

Many Big Sky ski condos and homes include private outdoor hot tub, WiFi, sound systems and cable TV, with access to Big Sky’s ski slopes from your mountainside location (with more ski terrain than Vail, Colorado). Keep a lookout for roaming fox and bear during your Big Sky luxury ski vacation.
